“When I was first diagnosed with colorectal cancer, Dina Bair was one of the first people I told. I’ll never forget what she said to me: 'You don’t become a survivor only when you make it through treatment, you’re a survivor on day one and everyday thereafter.' I’ve found the effects of cancer stay with you long after the final chemo treatment. From ongoing physical frustrations like neuropathy, to deeper emotional and mental health issues, the post-treatment requires special help. That’s what this organization does. It connects survivors with the critical resources like nutritionists, cardiologists, and psychologists, who can make each day feel a bit better. It’s about helping cancer patients survive, and thrive.”

SURVIVORSHIP
Our mission is to help anyone facing a cancer diagnosis become a survivor from DAY 1
At the Lurie Cancer Center, patients not only see their oncologist, they get a team of doctors to help them thrive through therapy. The multi-disciplinary approach with a nutritionist and heart doctor as well as mental health experts, allow patients to remain healthy and tolerate treatment longer. It’s a novel way to treat cancer and help save more lives. Studies show treating the whole person, helps cancer patients live longer.
